The founder of Nilfisk-Advance, P.A. Fisker, started as an electrical engineer who liked to work on electrical motors. After founding his business during 1906, he started to produce motors to drive drills, coffee grinders, fans and machine tools. Mr. Fisker's dream from the start was to have a global business advertising merchandise internationally.

The Nilfisk C1 was a tremendous breakthrough for the cleaning trade. This ground breaking vacuum cleaner, invented by Mr. Fisker, weighed only 17.5 kilos and could be operated by one individual. This creation came in a time where other cleaning equipment were massive and required at least 4 operators, thus, the Nilfisk C1 changed everything and developed the way we clean forever. The genius behind these first cleaning equipment remains unparalleled. Cleaning equipment offer an excellent solution to an ongoing dilemma; things get filthy and should be cleaned on a regular basis, without too much effort.

Slowly, the business Nilfisk-Advance expanded throughout the years. During the the early part of the 1980's the company developed more rapidly when the business became a part of the NKT Group. With new owners on board, they concentrated on driving Nilfisk-Advance ahead within the business, trying to be an active international player in producing professional cleaning equipment.
